Warning: Girly

I might have to see that TMJ specialist this week. Progress is still occurring, but I can't figure out the rhyme or reason, so answers might be nice. But whatever - I've whined enough lately.

Plus, I'm in an extra good mood because I made use of our master bathtub for the first time tonight. When we looked at this house, several things were prominent. Like, the insulated 3-car garage made Johnny's eyes bug out since he will transform it into his drum studio. A room of my own - my writing room - was important for me, too, but to be honest, I've always wanted fabulous bathtub. We had a shower/tub combo at the apartment which I did use, but it's just not the same. Our master bath has a stand-up shower and separate oval-shaped bathtub which makes me smile. It has plenty of space 'round the tub for candles, scented scrubs and such, and a wine glass. This blog entry would be much more effective with a picture of the tub, but you will have to be patient.

Tonight I merely wanted to share my excitement with those of you who would understand (or even care) - the female readers. I turned off every light except one recessed light directly above the tub. I lit a nutmeg & ylang ylang candle. I poured vanilla salts under the warm, running water. I even purchased this bath pillow (in "natural") which I've always wanted. I leaned back and sipped cabernet. I listened to the wind rush around our backyard tree. I listened to the wind chime sing. Tension seemed to swim out of my jaw to the ends of the earth. I scrubbed my feet and knees with Hugo brown sugar & kumquat. I felt how gravity disappears in water. I pressed the liquid texture with my hands. Honest to God, I said the Lord's Prayer and a hymn lyric escaped my lips, My soul declares the glory of the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior... If you knew the melody, you could appreciate the beauty.

All in all, it's been a blessed Sabbath, TMJ or no. Church followed by Indian food. Dwell magazine while lounging on the couch; admiring the lines of our living room ceiling and staircase from my perspective. A long phone chat with my Mom who voiced her opinion that she should hold a prominent place on my blog. She is my Mom, after all. So please notice the picture of my parents up and to your right. It is my current favorite picture of them, taken at my wedding. The photograph captures their personalities perfectly. And if you had any doubt that my Mom was important to me, now you know that she and my Dad are undeniably part of my genetic makeup and happiness. They will be our first overnight house guests on Mother's Day weekend and I can hardly wait!

I've never met them, but your parents sound like they are the coolest! I can only imagine the fun you and your friends had in your parent's home when you were growing up.
