Today:
-Christmas tea (excellent).
-Cedar incense - again (magical since cedars have popped up in my Bible readings this week).
-Johnny practicing tabla upstairs.
-Harley asleep behind me; a heating pad for his pillow. He likes to sleep nearby or with me, sweet cat.
-I'm lazing around (before I do laundry), resting, and thankful for recent, generous gifts from friends & family. It is a blessing to look up from a book, or walk through a room and see a beautiful object from a friend or relative. It reminds me of our friendship and causes me to thank God; to pray for that person.
Some of those gifts:

[the top of this ornament is a beautiful origami crane]Also while reading this week, I decided that Isaiah is one of my favorite books of the Bible. It has been for quite some time along with the Psalms, Proverbs, Luke, John, Acts, Ephesians, and well, many others (they're all good). But Isaiah is such an encouragement, full of promise after promise of redemption: Jesus. Light nearly leaps off every page.
For instance, today I read:
"Moreover the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun,
And the light of the sun will be sevenfold,
As the light of seven days,
In the day that the LORD binds up the bruise of His people
And heals the stroke of their wound."
[Isaiah 30:26]
As y'all know, I crave light - sunlight by day and candles by night. I love to read such verses because the truth is, Jesus is that light, brighter than all there is (even the sun and moon).

No, I don't want to take our tree down, either, but we're gonna tomorrow. Epiphany is on Sunday!

Where did you get the bird that's on top of the bookcase? I just adore it.
My friend Holly gave it to me. It is from Cost Plus/World Market. I adore it, too. :)
