Forgotten Disc Friday

Mr. March to the Sea kindly allowed me to write a review for one of my favorite albums of all time, Patty Griffin's Living With Ghosts, on his blog, Forgotten Disc Friday. I think his blog is cool because he digs up old, beloved CDs and describes why he likes them, and why you should like 'em, too. Check it out! I met March via blogdom, and our mutual love for Sigur Ros - so you know he must be cool.

By the way, the picture is Patty Griffin's legs. I am totally going to start dressing like that, and I need those shoes. NEED them. And, if you are seeking a new desktop for your computer, I suggest the breathtaking artwork under "Extras" on Patty Griffin's site (which I linked to above). I chose the one with an old, black limo and red roses, and it inspires me every morning. I think the art is by Austin artist/photographer Tracie Goudie, who might be married to or otherwise related to my husband's old friend, Johnny Goudie. If I am incorrect, please let me know. I'd love to know the artist of my desktop.

Jenni,

Now that I've just downloaded a selection of Patty Griffin songs from itunes, I wonder if I'm out more on music or you on books...

Thanks for the tip, Kimberly. I must find those shoes, and learn to walk with a bit of a heel (it's been awhile). I can do it for those shoes!

Allison, which songs did you download? There are at least 10 CDs I want right now, so we may be even soon!

Jenni, after reading your blog I downloaded (legally) two of her albums, 1000 Kisses and Impossible Dream. I cannot believe that I am just now discovering this stuff. Great music. I need to get Living with Ghosts. Kimberly has been diggin' her music too.

Thanks for the post which caused me to check her out.

When I can stop replaying "When it don't come easy" over and over I'll let you know what the others are.
