a little crafty

I can't remember the last time I made something with my hands, so this was a fun project to do while listening to Sufjan Stevens. I paid a visit to our local JoAnn Fabric and Craft store. I walked slowly through the many reams of fabric, remembering my grandmother who kindly sewed many an outfit for me and my brother. I walked out of the store with a few gift bags and tissue paper, a box of candy canes, multi-colored twine, blank white gift tags, a fir tree stamp, and a green ink pad. The knit sleeves are from Target (thanks to decor8 for the tip), and I think the shorter ones work better for these mason jars. I'm waiting on a shipment of local beeswax candles; an evening photo coming soon. I have one more jar to play with, too.

That's such a great idea. I'm definitely going to remember it. So are the sleeves sold by themselves or cut off of something?

It would also be cute to give sweatery jars like this filled with wassail mix or hot cocoa mix!

The idea is Holly's over at decor8 - click on the link. The sleeves are from Target, though if you can knit, you could use your own.

Your gift idea is great, too!

Fixed.
